Franconia Studio
Studio I | Fall 2018

This was a studio I project where building tectonics and site are first introduced. We were tasked with making a live work studio for artists in Franconia Sculpture Garden. Franconia is a large sculpture garden that has the space to produce large scale sculptures.
These buildings respond to Franconia’s mission of providing a wide open space for all to be inspired and participate in the creative process. The studio space minimizes structure in order to feel open, light, and spacious, so that artists feel like they don't have a room constricting their creation of sculptures. The bedrooms and shared living spaces are more closed off to produce privacy, while the area in between the buildings funnels the public into the area while also framing views.
