Intercom Speaker
Independent Project | Winter 2022
For this project I took one of the intercoms from my room in college and made it into a speaker. The intercom system at the house did not work and I thought it would be cool if it could play music. Before moving out of the house I removed the intercom from the wall and decided to building a frame for it. After exploring the inside of the intercom I started sourcing new parts to fit in the speaker. The hardest part to find was a Bluetooth board made for mono listening that included a volume knob. With the board picked out I just had to find a speaker of the same diameter to fit. The metal frame of the intercom fits over a oak & MDF box to resonate the sound. Overall It was fun to make this little project and learn about speakers and the sound properties within the cabinet.
