The inspiration for this project came after I purchased a motorcycle and wanted a dedicated place to store it. Modeled after the bike storage boxes the motorcycle pod is an easy and convenient way to store a motorcycle. The project is comprised of box culverts which are raised on a platform and closed off on one side. For the opening of the pod I wanted a door design to open out and then up. I drew inspiration from the cargo doors on coach buses for the opening mechanism. The rider rides up the ramp to the door and pulls onto the motorcycle dolly which allows the bike to be tucked away into the box from the side.
